“A wonderful company”– audience member, All That Matters

From the creators of Growing Pains and All That Matters, this summer the award-winning Project Dance Company premieres BUSK, a bold, earnest and unforgettable new story told through dance. Suitable for all ages, BUSK is set to be the dance event of the year.
As seen on the BBC, Project Dance Company has fast established itself as a trailblazing force in the dance world, thanks to its uniquely accessible and emotive productions. Trademarked by a commitment to telling heartfelt and human new stories, the company is renowned for being loved by dance enthusiasts and first-time theatregoers alike, and will present a limited countrywide tour this summer.

Written and choreographed by Project Dance’s Director, James Bamford, BUSK promises to showcase the company’s roster of exceptional dancers, conveying a story of redemption and hope, whilst illustrating the unbound power music has to say what words cannot. James founded Project Dance when he was 14, as he felt there were not enough opportunities for people to access the artform. Since then, he has guided the company through 7 years of ambitious artistic programming and continued community engagement work which has led to international recognition.

For the first time in the company’s history, BUSK will also boast an original score of breathtaking and toe-tapping music, composed by Charles Harrison, revered musician and composer for film and theatre.
“To have an original score is a dream come true. Project Dance prides itself on creating new work and so it feels only fitting that our productions are anchored by original music also. As a choreographer, collaborating with Charles has informed and inspired me more than I could have ever imagined. This year, our audiences are going to experience Project Dance like never before, as breathtaking dancers collide with a heart-rending score to tell a story that will resonate with everyone.” – James Bamford, Director
