About James

James is the Founder and Director of Project Dance. A producer, creative, teacher and performer with a passion for freedom of expression and storytelling through dance, James established the organisation in 2018 when he was 14 with the ambition of making the arts more accessible. With Project Dance, James has curated all of the company’s work since its conception.

Creative highlights for James include writing the company’s first full length original production, Growing Pains, producing an array of dance films, fringe performances and charity events and designing programmes of community engagement activities which the organisation rolls out annually.

Aside from Project Dance, James has choreographed for an array of clients and settings, including musicals, cabarets, corporate events, commercials and classical ballet galas.

Passionate about championing young people, James has taught across pre-vocational and vocational settings including the Bristol School of Performing Arts, RJT Dance Company, London Studio Centre, Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, and Pineapple Dance Studios. Previous students have gone on to train at some of the country’s top conservatoires, as well as appear in feature films and on the west end.

James has been a member of TLW Dance Company, SolDansYouth Company and English National Ballet Youth Company (ENBYouthCo). He has danced for brands including Kellogg’s, Network Rail and Mars Wrigley and this summer appeared in the acclaimed Barbie film.
