The Project Dance Company is delighted to announce that its original production, Growing Pains, which premiered in Dorset during August 2022, will tour England this summer

Growing Pains is a heart-rending original story told entirely through dance. A story portrayed by young people, and written for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, Growing Pains is a truly one-of-a-kind production which spears straight to the heart of the human condition and celebrates what it means to love, be loved, and share your life with others.

Following its acclaimed premiere last summer, a tour which will visit Somerset, Dorset and London will take place from the 29th July – 5th August. With venues to be announced shortly and early bird tickets being available from 1st February, the majority of the original 2022 cast will return, along with a small cohort of exciting new talent to complete the touring company. Casting is to be announced in the coming months.

“I am elated to finally be able to share publicly our exciting news that Growing Pains will not only return this summer, but will travel across the south of England. This opportunity will allow us to take our story to more audiences and enable our young artists to experience the magic of touring a dance work. With the organisation having just turned 5 years old, it’s a pinch me moment to consider how far Project Dance has come in its short lifetime. I’m more grateful than I can say to our supporters and audiences for making this possible.”

Virtual Open Call

There will be a virtual open call for dancers to audition for one of the few remaining places in the cast, with information on this to be shared across Project Dance’s channels in the coming weeks. This opportunity is suitable for dancers in training currently at a pre-professional level.

“Growing Pains has been such an exciting project since its conception, everyone involved has put so much into this work. Seeing the outcome of all of the dancer’s and crew’s work last August was incredibly inspiring and I’m very excited to continue the Growing Pains journey this summer as it begins to extend its branches even further.”
